Harold's Himalayan Challenge Part 3

Hi, my name is Harold, I am / was a runner and done the Himalayan 100 mile race in 2000, and I, first hand, witnessed the poverty and hardship in the small villages. 22 years later I returned to do Voluntary work at a School / Orphanage called Maya Universe Academy.

There are 250 pupils and for over half of them this school is home, many having no other home to go to. This school delivers a much higher grade of education then the State schools and cares for it's pupils from Infant classes thru' national and secondary education etc. until they are in full employment.

The school achievements has created a growing demand for enrolment and Maya does it's best to grow and meet the demand as these children are their community and education is the only hope for them to conquer this hardship.

This Fundraiser is NOT for my travel / expenses, it is donations for the school mainly to purchase materials for projects to improve and expand the school. Even a small donation can achieve a lot there so please do consider giving something that you won't miss and I thank you in advance.

This will be my third year, I stay for 6 - 9 weeks each time and so far I have made furniture for a meeting room, fitted out an infants classroom and last year I made 60 school benches for a new study hall. None of this would have been possible with your donations to purchase the tools and materials needed for the projects.
