COMPENSATION FUND FOR HARMED PARTY & RESTORITAVE JUSTICE

Donation protected
Restorative Rhythms is more than a concert — it is a critical fundraiser to make restorative justice possible for people who are working to repair the harm they caused. The "Portland Community Justice Partnership" gives responsible parties the rare opportunity to make amends directly and meaningfully — but that repair cannot happen without real financial support from the community.

When harmed parties are waiting to be compensated, and when responsible parties do not have the means to pay restitution on their own, restorative justice stalls. This is where the community becomes essential. Every dollar donated is a direct investment in accountability that heals instead of punishes; every contribution helps prove that there is a better way to respond to harm than prison.

The event will feature live performances from local musicians and tabling from restorative justice organizations, all united around one urgent goal: to raise at least $5,000 to compensate the harmed party in this case, and to ensure that future PCJP participants have a way to fulfill their obligations. If these funds are not raised, the financial gap falls back on individuals who are already struggling — and the opportunity for repair and growth is threatened.

This Restorative Rhythms concert is being organized and hosted by musician and PCJP participant Emarrion Thomas. Emarrion is actively doing the work to make things right, and is asking the community to help him complete what he started. “Restorative justice has given me a chance to repair the damage I caused without being incarcerated,” Emarrion says, “but I can’t meet this obligation alone. I need my community to help me finish what I committed to.”

All ticket sales and donations will go directly toward compensating the harmed party in Emarrion’s case. Any amount raised beyond that will create a fund to help future PCJP responsible parties pay restitution — allowing restorative justice to continue instead of collapsing under financial barriers.

Your donation is not just a kindness — it is what makes this model of accountability possible. Without financial support, restorative justice cannot function.
