Harm Reduction Nurse

Hello,

** If you are in Mexico, and want to make a direct donation to Mariana, this is her account:
4152 3139 6534 5007

I am reaching out today on behalf of a colleague and friend, Mariana, who has lost her home and everything she owns during the current floods that impacted Tijuana.

A week ago, San Diego got hit with an intense rain that led to severe flooding in certain areas. However, this also heavily impacted several communities across Tijuana. Mariana, a harm reduction nurse who coordinates a safe zone for people who use drugs in the community organization PrevenCasa, lost her home and everything she owns (including clothes, furniture, and shoes) during the storm. Her home got flooded with water from the sewer, hence everything was lost.

During the storm, they were unable to evacuate and had to guard themselves on an unfinished second story in a building near their home. Luckily, she and her family were able to physically survive the storm but this has left them in a tough situation, both financially and emotionally.

The money from these donations will be directed towards making sure Mariana and her brother have a safe place to stay, and to make their home liveable.

If you can donate even $5 this would be greatly appreciated. And if you can’t, please share this donation request. Anything helps.
