Harley’s Cancer Journey

**UPDATE 24/07/25**
At 10:15pm Monday 21st July 2025 Harley lost his year long battle, and passed away, peacefully as he slept. We are totally devastated as a family, and his departure has left a huge painful hole in our lives.
He began to get quite poorly from 17th/18th and was transferred to ICU, but rapidly went down hill from about 2pm on the 21st until the doctors had done all they could and it was just about making him comfortable until the inevitable. His brothers came to see him in the evening to say goodbye, along with his uncles and grandparents.
We stayed with him until the very end, each holding a hand. His heart rate declined along with his blood pressure and he was taking less & less breaths per minute, until he gently took his last & his heart stopped. No attempt to resuscitate was made as it would have been futile & cause unnecessary destress. He felt no pain, no fear and no destress - he just drifted off so very peacefully.
On behalf of Harley and ourselves we would like to thank each & every person who supported us all through this last year, and who are still supporting us now.
We do not know how to process this physical pain of loosing our hero. We are all broken! But we hold onto the small reassurance that he is no longer struggling, no longer in any pain and that he fought till the last moment - our true warrior Harley.
Any and all of these generous donations will now go towards Harley’s 3 brothers and our family to aid us through these next horrifying few months.
He is now having his forever sleep. Sweet dreams my brave boy - see you soon

On 27th July 2024 we were given news that shattered our lives & changed everything! Our eldest son, Harley, who had just turned 12 earlier that month, had a mass on his chest which was pressing against his heart, lungs & airway. After many tests & scans he was diagnosed with Tcell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. His official treatment & chemotherapy started on 8th Aug 2024 and is expected to last for approximately 3.5 years.
Harley has 3 younger brothers, Freddie who is 10, Noah 8 and Theo 6. They have, and continue to be, very brave & supportive of their big brother, but so far it is Harley that has shown the most amount of strength & bravery out of us ALL! His smile very rarely wavers and his upbeat, positive attitude is what helps keep us all going!
For 11 months now Harley has undergone a rigorous and gruelling chemo schedule. He has had many stays in hospital on his oncology ward, ranging from an overnighter for monitoring to a couple of weeks for a stomach infection. But on 10th June Harley was admitted for a prolonged nose bleed and low platelet count. He deteriorated and by the 13th he was in Intensive Care, sedated and on a ventilator. His liver was failing. For what reason we are yet to find out as tests are still pending, but he found through & after 11 days in ICU he was transferred to the ward. His failing liver has created a huge build up of fluid on & within his body, including some on his lungs. He is fighting still everyday but this will be a long road to recovery for him.
Any funds raised will be used not only for Harley himself, making him more comfortable & keeping him smiling, but also to help keep the lights on at home ready for when he is well enough to return. And also to help treat Harley’s brothers who deserve so much more than we can give currently.
We cannot thank people enough for their support and generosity so far xx
