Hi! I'm Jamie - and this beautiful boy pictured is Harlan John Sullins. Harlan was born to two amazing parents, Jonathan and Jacki December 11th of 2010. Harlan was my Godson.

Jonathan and Jacki were given the horrible news parents never want to hear - their child had cancer in February of 2013. Throughout the next few years this sweet boy underwent 66 radiation treatments, four cycles of chemotherapy and countless "pokes" and "boo-boos" as his family called them.

He fought through his initial diagnosis, brain surgeries!, a relapse and more than any child, or adult, should ever have to endure.

Not too long after Harlan passed the hard drive that contained all of the pictures of him and his now deceased, Wa-Wa (his grandmother) crashed. For the last seven years my husband and I have taken it various places in hopes that it could be recovered but have always been met with the same response - the technology to recover something as damaged as it ended up being just doesn't exist yet.

Until this year - this year I got a recommendation to take it to a fellow Fort Mill High School Alumni and the owner of a local store, Cellular Refresh. These kind boys met with me and said they would do everything they could to get the data off. I've been given status updates through the process; that they were able to turn it on, and get the fan running - but then came the very technical part that I don't understand.

Because of the complexities with the issues, the drive had to be sent to a forensic technician for recovery. They have been able to verify that they have 500GB of restorable data, but the cost is large. $2,900 to be exact.

This is quite an expense for any one person, but I'm hoping Harlans Heroes will rally around again and help ease the burden of this expense and get some priceless pictures back for this family.
