(Please be aware that the target is set in Swedish Crowns, which is about 10 to 1 on the US dollar, so the target equals $6,700 or €6,300, not seventy-thousand dollars. :-)
This also means that 1 USD is equivalent to 10 SEK and 1 EUR is equivalent to 11 SEK.
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to share an exciting opportunity and invite you to be part of something truly impactful. This summer, I have the privilege of traveling to El Salvador as part of a team trip to help build a home for a family in need and to host a Quinceañera for girls from government-run orphanages across the country. I’m incredibly grateful for this chance to make a difference, and I’d love to have you join in making it possible.
This trip is especially meaningful to me because it’s with the same organization that hosted the Quinceañera last summer—a trip I was blessed to be part of. Seeing firsthand how their work transforms lives has inspired me to return and continue serving. This time, our focus will be on building a safe and stable home for a family in desperate need. Many families in El Salvador live in extreme poverty, struggling daily for basic necessities like food, clean water, and shelter. By constructing this home, we’re providing more than just walls and a roof—we are offering security, stability, and hope for a better future. Alongside this, we’ll be organizing a Quinceañera with the local organization, Sus Hijos, for young women in orphanages, giving them an unforgettable experience they would not otherwise have.
The Quinceañera is a traditional coming-of-age celebration in Latin America, and we’re bringing this special event to these girls, showing them that they are loved, valued, and worthy of celebration. It's not just about throwing a party; it’s about giving them a moment of joy and affirmation in their lives.
To make this trip possible, I need to raise 70,000 SEK (approximately 6,300 EUR or 6,700 USD) to cover travel expenses, building materials, and other trip-related costs. Any donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to changing lives. If you’d like to be part of this, know that every donation goes directly toward funding the trip and the home-building project and is deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to give, sharing this message also helps by increasing awareness and support for this cause.
In addition, we are collecting donations of dresses, shoes, and jewelry for the girls to wear to the Quinceañera. If you have any items to donate, please let me know!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering being part of this incredible journey with me. Your support means the world! If you have any questions or want to hear more, feel free to reach out.
IMPORTANT DONATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please be aware that if you choose to donate, the amount you enter will automatically be in Swedish Crowns since I am located in Sweden. So you’ll need to multiply the dollar amount you wish to donate by ten (or by 11 for the Euro) to ensure the equivalent in crowns comes in and that you are charged the right amount. For example, $50 = 500 crowns and €100 = 1,100 crowns.
Know too that if you are US based and would like a tax deductible receipt, you can also donate in US dollars directly to His Hands, His Feet which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Just go to www.hishandshisfeet.org/donate and make sure to include a note with my name on it.
Thank you so much!
