Hey everyone!
I hope you all are doing well and surviving this global pandemic. As some of you already know, in August I moved to Ashland, Oregon, and began a new nine-month contract with Siskiyou County Schools as an occupational therapist in northern California. It has been quite the adventure and learning experience (COVID-19).
As you may have seen on the national news , wildfires are destroying Oregon and northern California. I am sad to report one of my rural-mountain school communities has been destroyed by the wildfires. It left Happy Camp with nearly 200 families homeless. These kiddos are not only trying to survive a global pandemic, they now have to do it without a home and their basic necessities.
I have received so many phone calls from family and friends making sure I am safe out here and asking how they can help. The best way I know is to raise as much money as possible and donate it to The Happy Camp Community.
I have started this GoFundMe page to raise money for the items requested as of right now by community members (basic hygiene items, food, crock pots, clothing, activities to keep children safe, etc).
If you are able to provide some support to the families impacted by these wildfires, it is greatly appreciated. I will keep everyone updated on the donation process :)
Stay safe and everyone take care.
