Hannah's Groundswell

Hey there friend! I want to thank you, first off, for taking the time to check this program out, I am very excited to be working with Operation Groundswell and I hope you are as moved by their desire to live fully with passion, caring, and awareness as I have been.  

Operation Groundswell is a small organization based out of Toronto, Canada concerned with furthering truly effective volunteer work.  The approach taken by the OG team strives to put compassionate and enthusiastic workers in the hands of the community partners themselves in order that they be of most use in meeting the needs of individuals.  This takes the focus off the volunteer and instead promotes team building and enforces that the work achieved will fit the needs of the community itself. 

I am a current College Senior from the very center of the Midwest who has somehow found herself planted on four continents and in seven countries (and counting!).  I adore traveling and I hope to continue to meet new people in new places while doing new things until I am no longer able to put one foot in front of the other!  I am incredibly fortunate to have been blessed with the medical, social, political, and academic ability to travel to the extent I have in college.  I want to pay back some of this good fortune now by volunteering with Operation Groundswell during their Middle East: Behind the Headlines program this summer from May 29-July3rd.  The team I am joining will work with several local organizations in aid of the community and will gain a new perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by living in the Holy city of Jerusalem.  

The money raised through this platform will be used to cover the Community contribution: 630$USD (funds that are delivered directly to local organizations), the international flight: ~1300$, and the final program fee of 1254.03.  This amount totals at just over 3000$.

Again I want to thank those of you who have visited my page here and taken time out of your no doubt busy schedules to think of me.  I will never forget your generosity and your decision to give will help more people than you will ever know!
