Hannah’s Volunteering Trip to Tanzania!

Hi all!

My name is Hannah. I’m currently a student at Heriot-Watt University studying Psychology.

I have been given the opportunity to volunteer in May 2025 for 4.5 weeks in Tanzania, Africa. I will be mainly based in an orphanage for under school age children.

The placement focuses on children in poverty, children and youth with disabilities, orphaned children, unemployed youth, women in poverty, people with HIV, people recovering from trauma, addiction recovery, older people, and education.

I am looking to raise funds to help cover the costs that are going to come of this. I am lucky enough to be able to work full time to fund my travels, but am bringing out play and educational items with me to help support the children I will be working with. I will be putting the rest of the money raised towards a donation to Art in Tanzania, who run several projects within Tanzania to support their community.
