Hannah's Hike
Donation protected
Hannah has worked at Wren’s Nursery, Hooke Court, for over ten years and is loved by the children, families and especially all of Team Wren’s. For a very long time Hannah dreamed of having a child of her own which has been a very long and difficult journey for her. At last, her miracle baby, Ella was born on 2nd January 2024.
Hannah had many difficulties during her pregnancy and Ella was born by caesarean section at 33 weeks and was cared for by Hannah and Jack and the team at the Special Care Baby Unit in Dorchester. Immediately after Ella was born Hannah was taken for a further operation to perform a biopsy. During Ella’s first few days both Hannah and Jack had to face the difficult news that she had a rare form of cancer that had spread. Within 3 weeks of giving birth and a long operation, Hannah began chemotherapy.
Hannah and Jack have strived to keep this as private as possible, to enjoy their new baby and to give her the best start in life. All of us at Wren’s have been in awe of her courage when faced with such frightening news and her bravery and strength during her treatment that is ongoing. She is currently half way through her chemotherapy and although there is an extremely long road ahead, she received the positive news that she is responding well to the treatment.
Hannah now feels ready to share what she and her family have been through over the last few months. Having been in very close contact with Han, we have been desperate to raise much needed funds for her and her family to be able to cope when they are unable to work and to have some much needed time together.
Two years ago, Hannah carried out a fundraising walk from Chesil Beach in Portland to Lyme Regis to raise money and awareness for Endometriosis. Team Wren’s feel it is fitting to follow Hannah’s footsteps on this walk (26.9 miles) to raise money for Hannah and her family.
We would be so grateful for any contribution you would be able to make for this cause.
