Hannah's African Adventure 2025

My name is Hannah and I have been given the amazing opportunity to carry out volunteering work at a school in Zanzibar. The schools are over-crowed, underfunded and therefore struggling to cope with the growing population of young people. As a result, many children are prevented from reaching their full educational potential.

With my school and African Adventures, I am heading to Zanzibar from the 5th July to the 14th July on a 9-day volunteering trip. My time will be split between helping build and renovate classrooms, toilets, and assembly halls and being a teaching assistant in the classes. I know it will be hard work but also very rewarding.

As part of my volunteering, I have also been tasked with fundraising £1000 to pay for my travel, accommodation and materials / resources for the project. Anything at all to help on my journey will be much appreciated. I will also be raising funds myself through car boot sales, quizzes and charity runs so it will be a busy few months for me alongside my school work.
