Handstand - The Appeal for Marshall Janson

Marshall Janson is a 17 year old lad who lives in Perranporth Cornwall. He is the nephew of Deb & Dave Lawrence who are family friends of Jason, founder of De Havilland Youth. All from Hatfield.

One Boxing Day morning his parents woke to find Marshall limp with a dark mark on his forehead, he was 12 months old. They rushed him to hospital where he was diagnosed with meningococcal sepsisaemia (meningitis). He spent the following 4 months in Bristol’s Children Hospital & Frenchay Hospital also in Bristol. Miraculously Marshall survived but in order to save his life he had to have all 4 limbs amputated, both legs above the knee, his left arm at his elbow & his right above his wrist, But he survived with his sight, hearing & everything else intact. A true miracle in my book!
Over these past 16 years we (family & friends) have fund raised relentlessly in order for him to have the best start possible. The best prosthetics, aids, wheelchairs etc. We have been blessed with good friends, family & people we’ve never met who have supported us so generously in our endeavour to always support Marshall. He’s grown into a smashing lad, part of a solid family unit with 3 younger siblings, enjoyed his school days & made amazing lifelong friendships & is now in college studying football coaching.

Marshall has always been football mad, he followed uncle David in his early years by supporting Arsenal because uncle David talked incessantly about Arsenal (basically brainwashed Marshall !!) but he was swayed when he first went to school by his one to one support who was an avid Spurs supporter.
He is now a massive Spurs fan & Tottenham Hotspur have been involved with Marshall from an early age supporting him all the way. He’s been on pitch several times, he’s met players often, been to club dinners etc.
He wanted to be their goalie! That was his ambition but as he’s grown in his teenage years he’s adamant he now wants to coach football.
He will get there too, he’s determined, he has achieved so much already.

Please get behind Dave & Chris who will be swimming 100 lengths of David Lloyd swimming pool on August 1st at 6pm to help Marshall &
De havilland youth. Marshall is proud to be a part of this new enterprise with Jason & De Havilland Youth.
