Hello everyone, my name is Gal·la Mateus. As a dedicated volunteer with Operation Smile, I am preparing for an incredible journey to India, where I will be part of a life-changing surgical program. There, I will not only assist doctors in providing critical care to children born with cleft conditions, but I will also stand alongside these young patients and their families—teaching them about oral care, offering comfort, and holding their hands when the process feels overwhelming. This experience is about more than medicine; it is about connection, compassion, and being a steady presence for those who need it most.
