Hamp's Eagle Scout Project

My name is Hamp Lackey and I am a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 911 in Mt. Juliet, TN. Currently, I am working towards my Eagle Scout Rank, which is the highest rank in Boy Scouts. One of my Eagle Scout requirements is to plan and execute a service project that will benefit an organization in need. I am currently planning my project and am seeking financial support to help purchase the materials needed to make my project a reality. I expect to begin work on my project in May 2018 and will have it completed by the middle of June 2018. The beneficiary of this project is Mt. Juliet, TN - Ethan Page Park.

The Story:
Ethan Page, 5, died after being struck by a pick-up truck as he played on his family’s property. He fell into the path of truck driven by a family friend while driving down the driveway.

The Page family purchased the property and donated it to the town of Mt. Juliet to build the Ethan Page Park in his memory. The city has already constructed a 9 hole disc golf course.  My Eagle Scout Project will support the development and build out of the Park.

On a more personal note, upon moving to Mt. Juliet my sister became best friends with a girl in her class. We discovered this girl was the sister of Ethan Page. My Eagle Scout Project has a deeper meaning to me and my entire family.

The Eagle Scout Project:
My project starts with building 5 picnic tables that will all be located near the front of the park for people who want to eat lunch at the park. (est. $875)

Also, I will  be building 7 benches about 200 yards apart throughout the 0.6 mile trail loop. (est. $950)
Additionally with support and money, I will be installing a Rope Wall. We will install 4 x 4 wood post about 10 feet apart with a rope going through them. This will be about 230 feet long; 200 feet on one side and 30 on the other of the entrance. Each 4 x 4 block will 3 feet tall and will be buried 1 foot in the ground and 2 feet out of the ground.   (est. $500)

Lastly, my project will be to erect a border wall around the entrance sign to the park using some decorative bricks. (est. $135)

Any donation that you may be able to make would be greatly appreciated and will be used to complete my project. On behalf of Boy Scout Troop 911 , Mt. Juliet Parks Commission, the Page Family and myself, we thank you for your time and consideration.
