Hallucinating 100 Miles for White Lake FD Heroes
Donation protected
My name is Scott Mann, and I am running my first 100-mile race in support of the White Lake Township Fire Department. While I have never run an ultra, I am no stranger to taking on physically and mentally difficult challenges or covering many miles on foot.
I have chosen the Run Woodstock Hallucination 100 for this fundraiser. The Hallucination 100 takes place in Pickney, MI, at the Hell Creek Ranch with six laps on a 16.67-mile course. The event starts Friday, September 9th at 4 PM and has a 30-hour cutoff at 10 PM on Saturday the 10th. Life is about taking on bold challenges, and I'm setting the bar high with three personal goals here:
1) Finish under the 30-hour cutoff.
2) Finish under 24 hours (given past race history, this should put me at or near the top of my age group.
3) Finish under 20 hours (this should put me in the Top 5 to Top 10).
What am I running for? The White Lake Township Fire Department. While the department receives its funding from the township budget, there are long-term needs that the budget doesn't fully support. The most pressing need is for ballistic turnout gear for the medics responding to an active shooter or other violent situations. Reaching my fundraising goal will support the department's need for two sets of this equipment. Exceeding my goal will allow the department to begin funding an advanced life support program.
Your contributions will help my community provide our first responders with the gear they need to do their jobs most effectively and remain safe in the line of duty.
If you have any questions, please contact me or Ashley Amburgy (Exec. Secretary to White Lake Township Fire Department Chief) via email at [email redacted] or (248)-698-3393 Extension 224.
Thanks for the support!
