Halifax homeless and community kitchen food bank

HHCK have expanded their service to the community, partnering with integrated4solutions cic and responding to the growing need to support the statatory services by running our very own food bank to help relieve food insecurity. We are continuing to supply food parcels to households that are economically disadvantaged/vulnerable/isolated/ older/ disabled and for those that cannot access food banks due to their health/ mental health, are without transport or self isolating due to Covid19. We are delivering over 80 food bags weekly, to over 250 people We are working collaboritively with other organisations to ensure we are meeting the needs of the community, taking referrals from social services, Surestart, Calderdale Lighthouse, Mothershare, young carers, young persons interventions team, women’s shelters and many more In excess of this, we are receiving over 10 additional referrals a day. Money raised will ensure our service is sustainable, allowing us to continue to source, replenish, stock, pack and deliver to as many people, helping to alleviate the additional and imminent stress caused by the current situation.
