Half Moon Bay Farmworker Shooting & Flood Victims

Tax deductible
Hello, I am Darlene Tenes, the founder of the Farmworker Caravan. The last time I wrote a Farmworker Caravan newsletter it was entitled "Good News" as we were preparing to deliver thousands of tamales and Christmas stockings to farmworkers in Half Moon Bay where our first stop was at the mushroom farm (shown in the picture above). This was the same farm with families and children that we had just visited at Christmas to deliver tamales and goods. Sadly, the children witnessed the shootings.

The agricultural community is always under a tremendous amount of daily stress before this tragedy and the recent floods have added another level of anxiety with untold consequences at this point. Then the tragic mass shooting today in Half Moon Bay.

We have been in touch with all of our partner agencies who have been overwhelmed with dealing with emergency services for both shooting and flood victims.

Now that the skies have cleared they will begin cleaning and evaluating the damages and then make an assessment of the needs. Please keep all those affected in your hearts and prayers.

The funds donated will be dispersed to our partner agencies and used for emergency services to support the 40 families affected by the Half Moon Bay shooting and the hundreds of farmworker families who have lost everything and have no work because of the flooded fields.
