On July 13, 2025, I’ll be running a 21.1km half marathon to raise funds for the Sri Lanka Dhamma Vihara Association of Canberra – Library of Buddhism.
Buddhism introduced me to mindfulness and meditation early in life, along with its deeper teachings of inner peace, letting go, and living in the present moment. These principles have shaped how I live and connect with the world around me.
I truly believe that culture and community played a huge part in who I am today. Giving back, in any way I can, is something I’ve always held close. This half marathon is a small but meaningful way to support the Buddhist Association as they prepare to open a new temple in Canberra’s north where I grew up — the result of many years of dedication and hard work.
To me, running is moving mindfulness. It’s a practice of being fully present — focused on breath, movement, and the body’s rhythm. It reminds me to slow down, appreciate the moment, and feel deep gratitude for what the body and mind can do. I've been training for the last 6 months and I am looking forward to the last month before the race!
Every donation, big or small, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for supporting this cause and helping continue the legacy of community, wisdom, and peace.
