In March 2026, a group of friends and I are running the Reading half marathon and the majority of us have never run a half marathon before!

A few years ago our friendship group lost a member, David, who heartbreakingly drowned at sea. David was an incredible athlete that always pushed his body to the limit. So naturally, Dave has inspired us to go out of our comfort zones and challenge ourselves physically.

We have also decided to use this opportunity to raise money for the RNLI, who spent 10 days searching for him off the coast of Poole. The RNLI rely on donations to continue to do the great work they do and this is the perfect opportunity to show our appreciation for their tireless efforts in the search for David.
