Haley Lindsey - Medical Expenses

Haley is 18 years old and is the daughter of Tammy Arnold. She recently got engaged to her sweetheart and best friend, Isaac Enriquez and has been planning for their wedding day on July 8th of this year. Recently Haley had a seizure that has been followed by daily myoclonic jerks. After an MRI scan, it was determined Haley has a mass on her brain. It is believed to be a rare tumor, although it is not yet known whether it is benign. Haley is in the process of getting further testing done at M.D. Anderson. Tammy Arnold, Haley's Mom, will more than likely have to take a leave of absence from work so that she can be with Haley through this process. It is unknown at this time what the out of pocket expenses will be but the family is trying to prepare for travel expenses and daily needs. Haley has been scheduled for a Craniotomy at Cook Children's to remove the brain tumor on May 12th (hopefully all of it but it remains to be seen). It has also been determined that she has a few different things going on aside from the tumor. The Neurologist is convinced that she has Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy in addition to chronic Migraines. With the stage of her current health, Haley has had to withdraw from her Senior Year of high school with only a few months left until graduation. The workload was too much to bear with her ongoing symptoms of extreme fatigue and headaches. In addition, Haley's mom, Tammy Arnold, has had to take an unpaid leave of absence from work sooner than expected and will be off work for at least a month. It is still unsure what the outcome of the surgery will be as far as the pathology report to determine if the tumor is benign. At this time the family is trying to prepare for upcoming medical bills and expenses though it is still unknown what they will be...or not be.
