I was adopted from Haiti when I was a baby.  To take a trip to Haiti to help out a country where I came from is an unexplainable feeling.  My dad and I are going to Haiti this summer to 1)  spend quality time with the children, and 2) to help me reflect on my personal thoughts of what Haiti is to me through my experience when I am on this trip and, not through pictures that I have seen of Haiti.
As we head to Haiti, we want to be able to raise some funds to help the orphanage there support their kids or give back to the many community programs they support such as the Nutrition or Milk programs. All funds raised through this will go directly to Haiti Children's Home as we are paying for our trip and expenses. Here's a link to their site ( http://haitichildrenshome.com/ministries-programs ). There is a Canadian support organization HCAS ( http://hcas.ca ) where you could donate if you wanted a tax receipt. They are also very appreciative of any support.
This experience will be life-changing to see Haiti, I will be grateful for any donations that come in and I will also be quite excited to give back to Haiti in as many ways as I can such as this one.
