Haisla has Sepsis and is fighting for her life. Haisla Collins is a local artist of contemporary Northwest Coast style, she is Tsimshian, Nisga'a and gitxzan, most known for her mural at the Central Vancouver Public Library "Sisters, Daughters Clan Mothers" her restoration of Roy Henry Vickers Salmon at the Aquarium. I also recently did mural at Surrey Foodbank "Day and Night in the Land of Plenty" . And she recenly launched a mural at 3 bridges"Putting Out the Fire, One drop at a time. So up until recently she has been fully capible of making my living off her art. After 2 days of extended time on her feet. She has come out the other end unable to mobility issues. After this her health determined rapidly, with continued pain, spasms. After 3 months Haisla's legs seized up and became numb and she had a big swelling on her back. She then brought back to emergency with a diagnosisof sepsis. After extensive testing including blood tests,CT scans and an MRI and a chest XRay Haisla was diagnosed with Sepsis and was taken to VGH for emergency back surgerywhere they repaired bone tissue and washed out the infectionin the swelling on her spine and out of her lungs. She is now at VGH, at recovering from surgery and getting pumped with antibiotics to continue to fight the infection. Please help support Haisla while She fights infection and fights for her life. The next few months will be hard. But doctors are optimistic that we can fight this thing. But we really will need extra support to survive the next few months. My family can not support me financially they rely on me. Please help support us. Thanks you so much for your support. Love you friends.
