Hairmyres Hospital

My grandad Jim passed away just under a month ago after a sudden collapse at his local bus stop. He was on his away to do what he loves doing, putting a bet on and having a 2 pints of Guinness at his favourite pub. Luckily there was an ambulance driving past as he fell and managed to transport him to Hairmyres hospital. We got the call a couple of hours later that we had to travel up to the hospital, and the Doctors and Nurses were fantastic with him and us. They were honest about everything, and stated that things weren’t looking positive and did everything they possibly could to make Granda comfortable. In 2009, my Gran Margret, Mag, also passed away unfortunately in this hospital when I was only young. This has led me to raise funds for there hospital as they were huge help during the awful few days for my family. My granda inspired me to do everything I loved, and played such an influential role in my life and taught me to do what I love doing. He seen what I loved and enjoyed telling all his friends and family how much he was proud of me.
