NHS Care Packages
After requests for a form of online donation, we have set up this gofundme page as a way of collecting money for the continuation of this Hailsham NHS Care Package service. Please see the original post below for more details.
We have managed to source a decent combination of fresh fruit and vegetables and non-perishable goods from a couple of local suppliers. We have acquired enough goods to put together an initial 50 NHS Care Packages. These packages will contain a varied selection - by no means a weekly shop but just a few essentials which may not be easily accessible. Certain products were limited on supply so packages may differ slightly, but will on the whole be very similar.
As highlighted yesterday, this is in response to the circulating video of the NHS staff member visibly upset after being unable to access a basic selection of foods due to mass panic buying. This may even save these individuals a sole trip to the shop where they could put themselves at risk.
Therefore this NHS Care Package delivery service will be available to all NHS staff living in Hailsham. Initially we will be solely focusing on Hailsham and the immediate surrounding areas.
If you or anyone you know works within the NHS and requires this service, please contact me directly through Facebook Messenger or email at [email redacted].uk. Please provide proof of employment in the NHS (such as a card), an address, and delivery times which work for you. This may seem excessive but we want to ensure that this service reaches those for which it is intended and required. Delivery will be discussed and organised over the coming days.
As the packages include loose fruit and veg, we advise that any recipients wash any loose goods once delivered. All necessary hygiene precautions have been taken during packaging. Some of these products may contain allergens, people with allergies please check products before consumption.
As mentioned yesterday, this initial batch has been sourced by Lewis, however understandably there is no bottomless pit of funds. For this to continue, we will rely on donations from both recipients and anyone else with any interest.
