Hello!
My name is Hailey Arielle and my dream is to provide medical support and bring light and love through music and service to poverty-stricken communities local and abroad.
Medicine? Music? Mission?.... what? all three?
YES! All three. :) I am currently an undergraduate pre-medical student balancing a music career (as Arielle Howell ) and a desire to serve communities. I plan to use my music, education, and love of people now, in the near future, and in the far future in any way possible... but i need your help!
This summer ive been presented with the oppurtunity to return to Haiti (last visit 2013), and to go to Africa (Malawi) as I have desired since I was a little girl.
In HAITI July 28-August6 (Port Au Prince), I will be volunteering at a feeding program and as a camp planner, councelor, and music leader for the children both local and at the Orphanage "Mason De Lumier" - under an organization known as Child Hope International . At this camp ("Camp-In-A-Box") we present these children with the oppurtunity to be who they are; KIDS! Due to poverty and other circumstances, the children dont often have the opurtunity to just enjoy themselves, free of concern of their next meal or the lives of their siblings. Its a much needed escape and rejuvination, as we pour out our love and care through games, events, and activities.
While in MALAWI August8-22 (Lilongwe), I will be serving as the music and creative arts coordinator for the ABC (African Bible Colleges) orientation for faculty, and the orientation for their students. For the ABC faculty I will cultivate therapy art during outdoor excursions as well as lead them in song. For the students, I will facilitate a workshop for decipleship training, hold a seminar, and lead them in song every morning and during every event. Overall... the ultimate goal is to pour out love and encouragement to fill up the students and faculty to get them "PUMPED" as they enter a new school year.
While in Malawi, I will also have the oppurtunity to shadow a Mission Doctor. Exposure to their facilities, and to see the work they do will encourage and motivate me to continue on my path. For a student like myself... it is one thing to SAY you want to do something, another to SEE it, and a whole other to actually DO it.
