In an effort to bring the community closer and raise awareness on gun violence, we're proud to announce the first annual 717 Community Cookout & basketball tournament in memory of Haiishen McIntyre. Haiishen was tragically shot and killed last year while doing what he loved, playing basketball. He was an honor roll student at Harrisburg High School Sci-Tech campus and an All-State basketball player who went on to play four years at High Point University in North Carolina, where he studied business administration.

 

To further honor Haiishen, we're starting a scholarship in his memory. The scholarship will be awarded to a student-athlete from the Harrisburg School District with a 3.0 GPA or above planning to attend a 4-year university. We will be presenting the scholarship on 7/17/22 after the tournament; we look forward to hosting the community and honoring a great person.
