Mike Hagerman (1969-2020)
Please consider giving to help support Mike's family. While his friends and colleagues are heartbroken by the loss-his family will feel the loss more deeply and also financially. This fund will be provided to Gail to use to bridge finances for living expenses for her and Sarah and James.
Mike was a caring and dedicated teacher, committed to the Union experience of mentoring students to find their passions and achieve their very best. He has inspired and touched many lives with his work at Union and his impact on the college will continue. Collaborating with students in his laboratory was a deep passion and kept him fighting until the end. He championed undergraduate research in the most substantial way possible, by welcoming any and every student to work with him in the lab and enabling them to travel to professional conferences to share their results.
His colleagues will remember him for his sincere warmth, caring and innate ability to provide a laugh or send a note of encouragement exactly when needed.
He will be missed.
