My name is Al and I'm raising funds for an amazing charitable organisation called Veterans Response.

Here's what they do:

They are supporting, on average, about 1,000 veterans a month with a range of services. From food banks, to breakfast clubs, from transition work and fitness to therapy (working hand in hand with the NHS), from support with accommodation to support with re-training and from financial advice to legal advice and more. They are an amazing group of people and you can find out more here

Every penny will go to Veteran's response and any donation would be hugely welcome.

Whatever your political views or beliefs, remember the people who served don't get a say in where or how they serve. Many, however, are left with the physical, mental, emotional, financial and practical challenges after they have served us. So I think it's only fair that we say thank you any way we can.

So please, anything you give will make a BIG difference.

And please spread the word... tell you friends, your ex-military mates, anyone bonkers enough to consider running a long way.

Why am I doing this?

Back in 2021 I had my first ever flashback, completely out of the blue. A really bad one.

One minute, I'm driving a camper van home, the next minute I'm in a literal hell, the smells, the terror, the sensations. Then suddenly I was back in the camper van with every nerve ending turned up to 1000!

Complex PTSD, they called it. All I remember thinking was why now? Why me?

Part of my healing journey was to run (I am not a natural runner, I'm more a bulldog than a whippet). In 2022 I ran the London Marathon. It nearly killed me but I got there in the end.

Then I came across The Wall.

So on the 14th June 2025 I am running Hadrian's Wall. 70 miles from Carlisle to Newcastle, the city where I was born. Honestly, even the thought of it scares the crap out of me but if anything is going to get me to the finish line in Newcastle, it's supporting an amazing organisation like Veteran's Response that's punching way above its weight.

I know you get asked regularly to part with your cash, in this case though you know that whatever you donate will make an impact on the ground immediately. So please give what you can :)

Thank you for taking a look at this page... you're amazing
