Project Victoria

We are raising funds in memory of our daughter Victoria Carson to help girls and young women develop leadership skills through sport. Victoria introduced hundreds of children to the sport of fencing and inspired many of our very best fencers at Brentwood, PDFA, Salle Ossian and SVFC fencing clubs and related schools, not to mention her Scottish and British national team mates. In 2014, Vicky was instrumental in setting up a charity in Scotland, Salle Ossian, through which children can access the sport regardless of their circumstances. She was passionate about supporting and helping others and it is with a view to continuing her good work that we have set up Project Victoria to encourage and enable girls and young women from diverse backgrounds to learn life skills through the sport of fencing. This will involve developing young people as athletes, referees and coaches so they can contribute back to the community as role models, officiating at local events or bringing on the next generation.
