Skate for Scott’s Law Honoring HP's Chris Lambert

Tax deductible

Please help the Highland Park High School Giants Hockey Team raise funds to support the wife and children of the late State Trooper and Army veteran Chris Lambert, a Highland Park Family.  In January 2019, State Trooper Lambert was driving home in a snow storm at the end of his shift when he stopped on I-294 to assist an accident that had just taken place.  While comforting the families involved he was fatally struck by a reckless driver who, despite Scott’s Law, did not slow down and move over when he saw officers on the side of the road.

Chris is survived by his wife Halley and one year old daughter.  Plus Halley is expecting their second child later this Summer.

100 percent of the funds raised by this GoFundMe campaign will be given directly to the Lambert family.

In addition to making a donation please join us for a family-friendly fundraiser, organized by the hockey team, details as follows:

Saturday, September 28th

1:00-3:30pm

Centennial Ice Arena in HP

Skating, games, activities, food and tons of fun!

Entertainment will be provided by Energy Productions and will include a live performance by the Jesse White Tumblers

U.S. Representative Brad Schneider,  Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White along with other local officials will be on hand to support the Lambert Family and to promote awareness of Scott’s Law

To the players on the HPHS hockey team, this story is very personal.  One of the families involved in the accident was a youth hockey family in town for the same local hockey tournament we were playing in.  We all relate as we have been taking hockey road trips since we were in elementary school plus we all saw the accident and the aftermath firsthand on our way to and from one of our tournament games.
