Baby Gidcumb's Medical Fund

Hi, my name is Ashley Gidcumb, my husband is Josh Gidcumb and we are from Evansville, Indiana. I'm currently pregnant with our second child, a baby boy! We found out on our 20 week anatomy ultrasound that our son has Sacrococcygeal Tereatoma (SCT). SCT is a rare tumor that develops on the tailbone of the fetus. The SCT's can grow during pregnancy and develop very large blood vessels. As a result, the fetal heart must do additional work by pumping blood through the tumor. The extra burden can lead to fetal heart failure (hydrops) which can be dangerous for both the baby and mother. In Evansville, we do not have any specialist for this condition, so we have been traveling to Cincinnati, OH for doctor appointments and for the delivery of our son. I have already had to relocate with our 3yr old daughter and mother in law to wait for the arrival of our son and to be here for our weekly appointments.  I'm currently 33wks pregnant and they plan on delivering around 36-37 weeks. We have found out this past week (11/10/14) the tumor has grown and there is an increased amount of fluid around him. This is becoming very expensive for our family. We are currently on the waiting list for the Ronald McDonald house, but there is a waiting list of 2-3 weeks right now. We have already had to pay for one week in a hotel and now looking at 2-3 more weeks. This is $734/week out of our pockets so adding two more weeks  it's going to be about $2,202 in hotel costs until we can get a room at the RMH. I'm currently on fmla, but will only be receiving 3 more checks before I run out of vacation/sick time. The rest of the time here, I will not be receiving any income. Josh has gone back to Evansville to work in order make as much as possible before he has to take off for the delivery. Not only do we have the hotel/gas costs, but medical bills are already flowing in and the delivery hasn't even happened yet. I will be having a c-section to prevent any pressing on the tumor. When our son is born, he will go straight into surgey to have the tumor removed along with part of his tailbone. Once his surgery is over, he will be in the NICU anywhere from 3wks to several months depending on his recovery and how well he does. We are asking anyone and everyone for help right now because we still have a long road ahead of us. Every little bit helps and will be greatly appreciated in more than one way.  It is already hard enough as it is, but being away from family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas is making it even worse!!

Thanks in advance and God bless all of you!!
