My name is Darcie Wilson, and I am 14 years old. I am fundraising for an incredible opportunity in 2027, through Camps International, that I have to visit Costa Rica for 4 weeks. Camps International is a worldwide organisation dedicated to the sustainability and protection of ecosystems, people, and wildlife across the globe. This trip is dedicated to supporting the local community, protecting and learning about the diverse wildlife of the vast jungles, and helping to preserve the environment by promoting cleanliness and reducing pollution.

During this experience, we will support local communities by helping to build medical centres, schools, and other essential facilities. We will also work to protect and restore ecosystems, providing safe habitats for wildlife. This journey will not only contribute to the development of under-resourced communities but also expand our own knowledge of diverse environments, cultures, and species. While in Costa Rica, we aim to enhance the well-being of both people and animals. My goal is to make a meaningful contribution to societies in need, such as those in Costa Rica.

Our trip is designed to create lasting benefits for the local community, wildlife, and environment. For the community, our efforts help strengthen society, improve living standards, enhance infrastructure such as schools and medical centres, provide valuable skills and opportunities, and support sustainable employment through Camp International’s local initiatives. For wildlife, our work contributes to restoring and protecting natural habitats, supporting reforestation, monitoring species for conservation insights, safeguarding animals from threats, and promoting long-term conservation initiatives. For the environment, our activities help maintain cleaner beaches, grow seedling nurseries, support eco-tourism, implement effective waste management, and reduce plastic use and pollution, leaving a positive impact that lasts well beyond our visit.

To make this trip possible, I’m seeking support to cover travel and project costs. Every contribution goes directly toward protecting wildlife, restoring habitats, and helping local communities build sustainable futures.
