Hi my name is Sierra Zucca and I am the proud daughter of Alessandro Zucca aka DJZUCCA.

On Tuesday March 3rd my dad, Alessandro went in for his bariatric surgery, a routine operation that was supposed to last 2 hours, unfortunately there was a complication where his spleen was hit and he almost lost his life, as he was sent home from the hospital, things seemed to be normal for a day, until he started to complain about his calf hurting, swelling began on his feet which cause him huge discomfort and they went to the emergency room, only to find out that he now has blood clots on his lungs and is very short of Breath. After being in the hospital for the better part of a week and several tests later, they also noticed one valve in his heart is now damaged and not pumping blood as it should causing more shortness of breath,

After an mri, the doctors also found a mass in his chest, we are still waiting on the results of the mass, this is going to be a long journey for him and his family. His condition is stable but we are still unsure on how long he will be in the hospital for. Also we do know that my dad will be on blood thinner injections for 6 months.

Anyone that knows my dad Alessandro, will know that he has always put everyone before himself, he has the biggest heart, always goes out of his way to make people happy, and is loved by so many.

His family has been extremely supportive,

Although Ohip has covered the major parts of this journey, unfortunately not all of it is covered, as they are self employed with the food truck, they do not have any benifits and the cost of medications are not cheap for what he needs to be in. it does not look like Alessandro will be able to get to work anytime soon, recovery is looking like 3-6 month and life for him and his family with 4 kids is very difficult at this time to find the means to cover all the bills that exist, the doctors told him to get comfy as he will be in the hospital for a while longer,
