I wanted to start a GoFundMe for my brother and sister-n-law. My nephew Clayton, was premature born 31weeks August 29th due date was October 30th. Born 3lbs 15oz 16 3/4” came early due to having a recessed jaw so he was unable to take in the amniotic fluid like he was supposed to, which made mom measure full term with over twice the amount of fluid that’s supposed to be. When he came out he wasn’t breathing and they had to work on him for awhile to get him going. Because of his recessed jaw he was very hard to intubate so he became a critical airway. He had some noticeable genetic anomalies. The recessed chin, and his left ear was closed with no ear canal opening. Clay also has a G Tube connected due to because he can’t eat. Upon further examination the underneath of that ear canal is blocked and his right side canal is smaller than it should be. When trying to pass a feeding tube through his nasal passages they realize that it seemed to be blocked, so when they took another look they saw that both sides were closed. He had the surgery to open those up, and has had three repairs. He then had a mandibular distraction to pull his jaw down and out. He came home December, Wednesday the 4th and was having trouble breathing so he was brought back to the emergency room and rushed back to Burlington. They decided the best/ safest decision was to do a trach to bypass the obstruction and hopefully let him breathe on his own again. Hopefully in two- three more weeks he will be able to come home again.
