Sergio and I met 19 years ago at KFC, my first job as a teenager :) We are amazed when we both look back at now having been married for almost 9 years and still learning more about eachother each day.
Although, we are grateful to God for our marriage and friendship, we have always longed to be parents. Shortly after being married, we were excited to become pregnant but soon experienced something no parent should have to go through. Our baby was diagnosed in utero with Smith Lemli- Opitz syndrome, a genetic syndrome inherited when both parents carry the gene.
Little Aya was a strong baby and we were grateful to be able to hold her after a full term pregnancy. We trembled over her every breath until she passed away in our arms five days later.
We have since stuggled with a couple of pregnancy losses and after much praying, finally turned to IVF to help make our dreams of becoming parents come true.
Through IVF, we were able to test our embryos for the genetic syndrome that caused our babies to die. This science has provided hope for us to have a healthy child. After one failed IVF try that has already cost us 25,0000+, we need an additional $5,000 to try another emrbyo transfer.
We are grateful for any donations and/or prayers which will help this journey of ours be worth it in the end.
