Quick update:
Several people have reached out to ask about a service for Mike. The date is still TBD, but it looks like it will be toward the end of June. I will post more when I know more. Thank you again for your continued support.
With heavy hearts, we share that Mike has passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. While this fundraiser was originally created to support his fight, everything happened so quickly, so now we are now shifting its purpose to help cover funeral expenses and support his wife, Nicole and their 13 year old daughter, Riley, during this incredibly difficult time.
We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and generosity from all who stood by Mike. Any contributions, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden on his family as they grieve and celebrate his life.
Thank you for keeping Mike’s memory alive with your kindness.

Mike was unable to tolerate dialysis in the morning and was transferred to a hospice facility in the evening. Mike has been surrounded by family and friend gathering to show their love and support. While the future looks meek, we are all still praying for a miracle. Please send your positive vibes and prayers in this family's direction.
Original Post:
My name is Amber and I have a good friend in need of financial assistance. My friend Nicole's husband, Mike, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to his left lung, liver, and abdominal lymph nodes.
Mike has been in the hospital since April 29th. He was supposed to get a port for chemo and was instead sent to the ER when his bloodwork came back with a very high white cell count. After being admitted, he was stabilized over the course of the next several days so that he could be transported to a hospital more equipped to deal with his cancer.
Mike was transferred to the new hospital and received his chemo port on May 6th. They ran a 48-hour continuous infusion of chemo and drained 1.7 liters of fluid off of his abdomen.
Side effects of the chemo led to leukocytosis (high white blood cell count) and now his kidneys and liver are shutting down. His kidneys are unable to flush the toxins from his body, so the hospital gave Mike his first round of dialysis on 5/15 after he failed to tolerate the attempt at dialysis the day before.
Nicole was advised by multiple doctors that it was time for palliative care/hospice for Mike.
Insurance will cover the cost of hospice in a facility, but won't cover the cost if she decides to bring him home.
While she is unsure of the course they will take just yet, Nicole is seeking a second opinion. She's not ready to give up Mike. They have a 13-year-old daughter together. They are fighting like hell to keep Mike here and they need help to do it.
While there isn't a clear path just yet, this family will need financial assistance moving forward whether it's to pay their mortgage and other bills due to missed wages, pay for a home health hospice nurse, or to make final arrangements.
If you can donate, it would be greatly appreciated. If not, and you are able to share their story, that is also very helpful. Please keep Mike, Nicole, & Riley in your prayers as they navigate this very difficult time.
