Slippers for Mom was created in 2013 to honor the memory of my mom, Marianne Block Taylor, who passed away from Ovarian cancer at the age of 56. A Christmas tradition we had was to purchase a new pair of slippers for my mom every Christmas. She always knew which box it was under the tree and always opened it first so she could wear her new slippers on Christmas morning. The old ones, while cherished, were always retired and the new ones worn with pride. I think if that's the only gift she received she would have been fully content.

Slippers for Mom is growing in 2014! I'm currently confirming the organizations we'll be donating to this year.
