Our names are Mark and Mollie Kroll. We have been together for 9 years. And have been married for over 4 years now. We wanted to start a family right after we got married. Six months went by with not being able to conceive. We went to a fertility doctor and started fertility pills. We were on fertility pills for about 6 months. We were unable to concieve again. This was very stressful and heartbreaking for us. We lost hope of our dream of having a baby. Since the fertility treatment cost us thousands of dollars and our insurance does not cover any part of it, we took a year off.
We went to a specialist to see if IUI would be an option for us. During this process Mollie was tested to make sure she was able to have a baby. We found out that Mollie has PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). This was a heartbreaking discovery. Since she was diagnosed with PCOS the doctors wanted to test her fallopian tubes to make sure trying IUI was a good plan. . On April 7th 2014 we got the worst news anyone trying for a baby could hear. Mollie’s tubes were blocked, and we would not be able to have kids without IVF treatment. Mollie had to have her tubes removed the following week as they could have become cancerous. During Mollie’s surgery they found that Mollie’s tubes were never fully developed. We were devastated, and lost hope again.
The only way we would be able to have kids would be through IVF. Knowing we would not be able to afford this treatment, our team of great doctors gave us a little hope and has told us about GoFundMe. We started this campaign so that the many people who care and love us can help with our IVF fund, to share our story and so we could start dreaming again for the hope we would be able to start a family of our own. Even through all the heartbreak we are not giving up on our dream to have a family. The IVF cost is the following $20,500 for down payment (this gives you three chances to try for a pregnancy) plus $7,000 each time for medications and monitoring. We are hoping to raise $30,000 to help with our dream which otherwise we would not be able to afford.
We look forward to the day that we get to welcome and hold baby Kroll in our arms. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you took the time to read our story. We appreciate any way that you are able to help us. Please keep us in your prayers.
Thank you again for your generosity and kindness.
