It’s summer. It’s a pandemic. Hearts need healing. We, Lielle and Tali, are incoming high school seniors who have watched the news, heard the stories, and felt with compassion what the world and our community is going through. What better way to make this summer a memorable summer in these times than to do what we have been taught since pre-school: give back. We hope to shed light and bring optimism to those in need, to show that people care. We hope that you join our mission and our cause, and be a part of healing hearts.
Yad Ezra V'Shulamit, a non-profit organization that is based in Israel and recognized by the IRS, addresses the needs of families in poverty, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, age, or location. Every week, Yad Ezra produces and distributes 3,000 food baskets, and every holiday, they distribute an additional 15,000. In their Yad Ezra V’Shulamit Children’s Centers, they provide meals, academic tutoring, and an enriching social environment. In addition, they provide guidance and financial assistance to unemployed individuals and families.
