Hey family! This year, instead of buying me a gift for my birthday, I would love it if you would consider contributing funds to the Nebraska Conference for Undergraduate Women in Mathematics (NCUWM).
We are living in a time where science and mathematics are actively politicized and discredited. STEM programs, especially ones involving diversity and equity, are more important now than ever.
NCUWM in particular is a conference that holds a special place in my heart. I had the privilege of presenting my research there at the beginning of the year, and I can safely say that attending was nothing short of life-changing. I got to meet an amazing community of female peers and professionals, all of whom gave me some much needed energy and courage as I took my first steps toward graduate school. Getting the chance to interact with this community was invaluable as I developed confidence in myself as a mathematician, and the wisdom shared by the panelists and speakers continues to guide, shape, and inspire me. I hope that contributing funds to NCUWM will give other young women a chance at finding the same sense of encouragement, connection, and belonging.
I am not expecting any specific amount as a donation (the fundraising goal is set at $2 because GoFundMe wouldn't let me leave an empty amount). Whatever you would like to contribute is lovely. If you know someone who cares deeply about this cause and may enjoy donating, you can pass this page along to them, too!
Thank you for your time, and for considering donating. Happy belated Pythagorean triple day (7/24/25)!
