Fathers Have Rights Too

My name is Gabriel Aguilar, I am son of David and Adriana Aguilar.  I am the proud biological father of Ariyana now 3, and father figure to Miroslava now 4.  In 2017, their mother and I agreed to share an apartment together to raise our family. Later that year their mother decided to move out. We mutually agreed she would visit the girls a few days a week for a few hours each day.   Proceeding, her absence I proudly took up the role of their mother and cared for our daughters. On November 28, 2018, as usual their mother visited the girls at the babysitter's residence and took them for a walk. Without notice, she did not return the girls to the babysitter or their home. After the babysitter notified me of the situation, I endlessly  tried to contact the mother for clarification, and she did not reply. For days I was unaware of their whereabouts. I immediately filed a missing persons, kidnapping, concealment report with the authorities. An investigation revealed that without my parental consent, she traveled with the girls out of the state of California. Eleven days later the authorities located them in the state of New York. The state of California is charging her in the criminal case.  During the time of their absence the authorities advised me to seek legal counsel. I immediately sought a Family Law attorney who is representing me in the custody child case to gain sole legal and physical custody of my daughter. Due to the family dynamics and the nature and complexity of the case it has been emotionally and economically a stressful time in our lives. I have been overwhelmed with legal bills that are expensive and ongoing, until the case is settled.
