I'm just a guy on a bridge trying to give people some hope and courage. My message is simple: if one person has the courage to stand up here day after day, rain or shine, under threat of imprisonment or death, I'd hope that it would inspire more people to action, even if it's only to talk about the guy on the bridge during your lunch break.

Our very freedoms and way of life are under threat. The social progress that we've made as a nation is under threat. Our ability to survive on our own terms is under threat. Our children's future is under threat, and if that is so, then what future do we have? Children are the future of EVERYTHING.

We live in quite possibly the most important time in all of human history. To not act now is to trade short-term security for the threat of oppression in the long term.

I do this for all Americans who believe in the tenets that our nation was founded upon: equality, freedom from oppression, the right to self-determination, economic mobility, and the pursuit of happiness... all under threat.
