Guy Exantus' Spinal Cord Injury and Recovery

Hi, my name is Soledad Exantus and I am asking for help for my older brother Guy Exantus. A few weeks ago on April 17th, 2023 my brother suffered a fall causing a spinal cord injury affecting his entire cervical collar from the C1-C7 vertebrae. This is a very serious injury but with the proper care is treatable.

Guy is currently living in Haiti, which as you know is a developing country with minimal access to medical resources. To help my brother, he has been transported from Haiti to Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic where he is in ICU awaiting spinal cord surgery.

The reason why I am raising money is that every single aspect of Guy's recovery and medical expenses are coming out of pocket. Without medical insurance, payment for things as simple as pain medication to as complicated as surgery is expected upfront before any services are provided.

I am thankful to be part of a family that has poured into my brother's recovery, but we have quickly realized this is a bigger expense than the family can carry.
