We're Adopting!

Jess and I are thrilled to share that we’re beginning a new chapter—starting our family through adoption!

This journey has been years in the making. Over that time, we’ve moved across the country, each completed advanced degrees to grow our careers, and recently bought our forever home. We’ve worked hard to create a life that’s full of stability, love, and opportunity—one we’re excited to share with a child.

We began the adoption process through Lutheran Social Services with the goal of adopting from foster care. After two years of working closely with a social worker and completing our home study, we learned that very few children were available in our desired age range. While we hoped to widen our search, the options through foster care remain limited.

Private adoption has become the most viable path forward—but it comes with significant costs. Even through non-profit agencies, expenses can exceed $50,000. While we manage our day-to-day finances comfortably, we’re not in a position to take on another loan so soon after buying our home and carrying existing student debt.

After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to open this fund to help make our dream of growing our family a reality. Every dollar raised will go directly into a dedicated “Adoption Fundraising” account, used solely for adoption-related expenses.
