My name is Lisa Liang and I am a member of the local community in North Burnett Queensland. I am starting this fundraiser to support the families of two young Chinese backpackers who tragically lost their lives after their car was swept away by floodwaters near Kilkivan in regional Queensland.

Their names are respectively Qing Wei Qiu ,26 years old male and Yuchen Guo,23 years old female who only graduated from University last year in China and only been in Australia for a few months.

These two young people had come to Australia with hope and courage, like many international backpackers who travel here to work, experience the country, and build a better future. Their support and contribution to Australian farming industry is very significant.

They were on their way to begin farm work to pick fruits in the North Burnett region when severe flooding turned a rural crossing into a deadly hazard. What should have been the start of a new opportunity ended in heartbreaking tragedy.

Being far from home makes such a loss even more devastating for their families. Their loved ones in China are now facing unimaginable grief while also dealing with the unexpected financial burden that follows a tragedy overseas. Costs may include travel for family members, funeral and repatriation arrangements, and other urgent expenses.

This fundraiser aims to provide direct financial support to the families of the two victims during this incredibly difficult time. All funds raised will be used to help with:

Repatriation of the victims to their home country

Funeral and memorial expenses

Travel and accommodation for immediate family members

Emergency support for the families while they cope with this loss

Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease some of the burden on the grieving families and show that the community cares.

These young backpackers came to Australia with dreams and trust in a country known for its kindness and opportunity. Let us honour their memory by offering compassion and support to those they left behind.

这次募款的目的是在这个极其艰难的时刻，为两位遇难者的家庭提供直接的经济支持。所有筹集到的资金将用于：
