Help Gumption Build a New Home for Hurricane Irma Victim, Andy Ham

Back in 2017, Hurricane Irma devastated massive amounts of the Caribbean, leaving thousands homeless and without food or water.
It is now 2019 and Andy Ham, one of those victims STILL has no habitable place to live. His roof was torn clean off and the house was stripped to its bare shell.
Andy has been a member of the Virgin Gorda community for his entire life and gives back by volunteering and helping in any way he can. He is now retired an earns nothing but a small social security check every month. Even that is unreliable and sometimes unavailable.
No one should have to live without shelter, especially a man of Andy's age.

Won't you please help Allington "Gumption" Creque in his mission to help build a proper shelter for this kind and generous elderly man of Virgin Gorda.

We are trying to reach a minimum of $20,000 and any contributions would help tremendously.  The money will go directly to Gumption and Andy who have laid out the plan to build a temporary structure for Andy while his house is being repaired. Every cent of the proceeds will be accounted for and tracked to make sure they are being spent wisely and properly to get the work done efficiently and affordably.

Thank you so very much for your generosity in this time of need.

A note from Gumption:

"Stop- All other projects are at a stop until this man gets a home!

I just didn’t want to find people to help me with my cemetery clean up project, but people who deserve an opportunity and the money. Anderson Ham was a perfect fit.

After the project was complete, I honestly only went to his property only to give him the $500.00, it was to be all undocumented. However, Andy was desperate to be heard and I was excited to listen. We need to get an excavator and truck, knock down his old house but retain the foundation then rebuild.

Anderson ‘Andy’ Ham is begging both the community and the world to help him. I’m asking a competent Company to get involved. I am asking corporate Virgin Gorda to please get involved. I am asking all the churches to please consider getting involved with this project. I am asking all Non-profit organizations to please have your club do something for this man. I am asking both my local friends and international friends to help me to help him.

I am willing to travel if anyone is willing to plan a fundraiser/auction etc to help this man, I will get myself to the event."

Dear Donors,

Thank you so much to all of you beautiful people who are helping to turn this man's life around and rebuild a shelter for him to live in again. You are all so very generous and kind. We are more than halfway there, but we still need your help to spread the word and donate to reach our goal!

Just to clarify some of the details of this campaign as requested by GoFundMe and so all of our amazing donors know that this is campaign is actually helping Andy Ham of Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands:
1. Gumption, who is in charge of this community effort to help Mr. Andy Ham, is a friend of mine. We just met yesterday while spending time in Leverick Bay, Virgin Gorda. He and I met with Andy Ham and told him about the great progress being made in this campaign. (See pictures of us above Leverick Bay outside Rada's restaurant)
2. The donated funds are being withdrawn in my name and
3. The donated funds will be delivered, by check, to Mr. Allington "Gumption" Creque, who has organized it all to be used for building supplies, electricians, plumbers, and other building services.

I'm sorry for any confusion and hope this helps clear things up for anyone concerned about their donations. Gumption is truly a community hero just helping one of his fellow community members.

Thanks again for your support,

Evan Bartle
