Help Grant Guillian's Wish

Donation protected
Hello dear family and friends. My name is Sarah Linsangan and my brother, Kevin Linsangan's best friend, Guillian Daguplo, has been battling cancer that has, unfortunately, metastasized to his spine. Guillian was initially diagnosed with testicular cancer and has had multiple surgeries and chemo treatments. Guillian has decided to stop undergoing treatments in this current stage of his disease and is getting medical care at home where he is comfortable and gets plenty of visits from loving family and friends.

Now, for as long as I have known Guillian, this young man has a personality that easily fills others with joy, laughter, and love. Guillian is 24 years old, a devoted son, a loyal brother, and a fun uncle who enjoys strumming guitars with his friends and loves music and video games.

Back when my brother and Guillian were in high school, I would often come home to a house full of laughter from four boys who had just come home from band practice. I had always wanted siblings, but I never thought I would be blessed with four (Kevin, Guillian, David, and Dylan). I watched Guillian grow up with my brother and even going into college, these two were almost inseparable. They joined clubs together in college and eventually ran a club together. I even took both of them to their first Coachella, and we camped! Without hesitation, Kevin knew that Guillian was who he wanted to experience that "first" with. With all that time pass, I didn't realize how much I began to treat Guillian like my own brother; it just became easy and so natural. I learned to get used to him calling me "Ate" (i.e., a term of respect for an older girl or big sister in Filipino culture) and speaking to my parents respectfully in Tagalog. I don't think I could ever see him as anything less than my brother.

For the last few months, I have had very deep and emotional conversations with Guillian. He has told me, "When the time comes Ate, I don't want to fight it." For someone at his age, it is amazing how courageous he is in facing his diagnosis and prognosis. He has faced it with so much dignity and positivity. He and his mother have shared with me and my family his wish to be buried in the Philippines. It is Guillian's wish that his family in the Philippines be able to see him, especially his grandma. He loves his family in the Philippines so much.

On behalf of Guillian and his family, Kevin and I would really like to grant Guillian's wish to get him to the Philippines, as well as help his family with miscellaneous medical expenses and hospice care. Anything you can contribute will mean the world to Guillian's family. This has been an extraordinarily difficult time for them and their journey with Guillian's fight against cancer has been physically, emotionally, and mentally wearing, but they truly appreciate everyone's continued love and support.

Thank you so much for taking your time to hear Guillian's story. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
