Amanda's Service Trip to Guatemala

You can help provide these essential items to families in need in Guatemala.
I am excited to share that I will be traveling to Guatemala in February on a service trip in support of El Amor de Patricia and The Bunk Bed Project as a member of “Team Friendship.” My dear friend Kate invited me to join her and her 11 year-old daughter, and I’m so thrilled I said yes.
I recently had the chance to hear a few others share their stories about their own service with El Amor de Patricia, and the profound emotion and depth of personal impact was incredible. I feel moved and humbled at this amazing opportunity, and I can’t wait to bring back my own stories.
El Amor de Patricia is a home for abandoned, abused, and neglected children. It provides a family-style home environment full of safety, stability, and love for as long as the child needs it.
The Bunk Bed Project provides beds for families in need who were previously sleeping on dirt or concrete floors, or on makeshift wood pallets. Giving a family bunk beds improves sleep, overall heath, and school performance. The long term ramifications of this can truly change a child’s entire life.
In addition to the bunk beds, our group will be delivering clean burning stoves and water filters to families.
I am hoping to raise money to help our team make as big an impact as possible. Please know that I am paying for my own travel costs and accommodations. Your donation will go directly toward purchasing beds, stoves, and water filters on behalf of Team Friendship.
Even a small contribution would mean a lot to the children we will be helping. No donation is too small. Thank you so much for considering helping out!
