Guatemala Medical Equipment Repair - RIT EWH
Donation protected
Hello! We are a group of 11 students from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) going to Guatemala during the winter holiday break as part of Engineering World Health (EWH). We will be volunteering in hospitals across the country to help repair and maintain medical equipment, such as infant warmers, surgical lamps, ventilators, and nebulizers. Hospitals in low-resource communities are forced to rely on donated medical equipment which is often broken and inadequate. The lack of proper functioning equipment makes many life-sustaining treatments and procedures virtually impossible for local doctors and medical personnel. The goal of this three-week trip is to assist the local staff with needed repairs across facilities. Funds will be used toward travel expenses, tool kits to be donated to the hospital, transportation, and defraying local homestay expenses. We thank you in advance for your support toward this life-changing experience!
