Help a Mother of Four Avoid Homelessness
Donation protected
I’m a mother of 4. I fell behind on my bills in June due to losing my job because I needed to cut hours. I then got another job and ultimately ended up losing that job as well because it was too strenuous on my pregnancy. Then I landed a job at Krispy Kreme but my husband ended up leaving me a week before Christmas and a week before I was supposed to start. I didn’t have childcare then so I had to postpone starting my new job, I ended up having to hire my mom to take care of my kids and she had to quit her job to do so.
I started in the middle of January and all my other bills came out of my check before I could touch it for rent. I tried to get some of it back, but I couldn’t so I took everything off of auto pay so I could use my next check for rent, but that didn’t end up happening the way I expected I went into labor Valentine’s Day and then I was out of work for two weeks. I had to force myself back to work so I could start paying these bills, but once I got back to work within a week the car that I had broke down, leaving me without a way to get to work and when my taxes hit, I had to use all of those to get a car so I didn’t lose my job. I have been trying to save since March and I’ve been working over 50 hours a week to try and get this debt paid but now they halted payments until I can pay in full and attorneys are involved and there should be a court date soon.
I have 4 kids: 14 years old, 8 years old, 1.5 year old and 2 months old. 2 are under 2, I can’t afford for them to be homeless.
